Max went to the Orthopaedist today for a recheck on his feet and hips. They did another xray of his hips and he appears to have something called Acetabular Dysplasia, which basically means "shallow hip joints". The Dr. gave us a special sling/hip harness for him to sleep in which keeps his legs in the "frog" position, hopefully helping the sockets to deepen over time. We are supposed to use it every night for 6-8 weeks. Tonight is his first night, so far so good, but I can't imagine that it is very comfortable. Luckily, Max is a very laid back boy and thought it was very funny that we were putting this thing on him before bed. We'll see how long that lasts.........

The Holy Family

We had the honor of being the Holy Family at our church's Christmas Eve service.
Max was a great baby Jesus, he slept through most of it.
Joseph (aka Jim) had some logistical problems with getting the manger around the choir, but
managed to show up near the end of O Holy Night......Mary was looking like a single Mom
on stage for a while......

Max in motion

Max has just started rolling over the past few days, its so funny to lay him down and return to find him flipped! He is also becoming more vocal and says a lot of "Ba Ba Ba's" and "Da Da Da's". James is excited about Santa coming tonight, and we are the "Holy family" tonight at our church's Christmas Eve service, we are hoping baby Jesus doesn't get too wild!

Merry Christmas to everyone, we are sad to be away from our families but loving this 80 degree weather!

Santa Claus

The boys did GREAT with Santa,
(although they thought Mommy and Daddy were
a little strange trying to get their attention behind the camera,
shaking toys and making strange noises, ha!)

James' Christmas program at school

James did pretty good today at his Christmas program,
he seemed a little sleepy or bored..... he kept yawning.
The kids were adorable, and I'm just surprised
they were able to get that many two year olds to sit
still for that long!

James is in the bottom left corner of this pic.
Sorry, it was kinda hard to get any closer, a lot of
professional parent paparazzi out there!
Prepare yourself to hear the voices of little angels...............................screaming.

James loves the songs he learns at school, he comes home singing them and wants us to sing along, he'll say "Mommy you know that song!" I think this song in particular was Happy Birthday to Jesus, but I'm sure you were all able to pick that up from the video.

Thank you Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Rob
for the Eagles PJ's!!

Gingerbread Man

James and his Daddy worked hard on
a gingerbread man. Thank you Gg and Popster
for the goodies!

Weekend in Orlando with Gg and Popster

We had a great time in Orlando with Gg and Popster, we got to ride on some of the coolest paddle boats we'd ever seen. James said the dragon one was like D-daddy's boat.

James had so much fun he fell asleep on the couch, which he NEVER does.
We went to a bon fire down by the lake and sang Christmas carols, James had a blast with the other kids and I think it was his first time roasting marshmellows. Max loved it too, he was kicking his feet to the beat. We had so much fun, Gg and Popster really know how to party!

Christmas time

These Christmas pjs Max is wearing were Nathans, they are 18mos!

Taking the family Christmas photo is getting a little more "interesting" each year.... What is that they say about working with children and animals?!? Max was pretty excited that Cappy was joining in the fun though.

Max LOVES the Christmas tree! He gets mad if you take him away from eat, even when he is trying to eat it.....

The boys snuggled up in there pjs, we have really been impressed with how loving James is to Max, he really loves him and is ready for him to play!

Happy Thanksgiving!

James' "hand turkey" placemat

James' pilgrim (not sure why he's so sad....)

We had a great Thanksgiving with our neighbors Bob and Pam as well as Dad, and Rick and Debbie Duggan. The weather was so nice we actually ate outside, but it got a little chilly as the sun went down. We missed our family that wasn't with us but were thankful just to be together.

Jim did most of the cooking, making everything basically from scratch and it was delicious with lots of yummy leftovers, yay!

Max's first "meal"

Max tried his hand at eating for the first time this morning.
He had some rice cereal and actually did pretty good.
James really got a kick out of watching him try and eat, he was trying to
show him while he ate his oatmeal. Quite entertaining......
I can't believe its already time for him to start baby food, I thought we had
a few more months, but his Dr. said to go ahead and start him on cereal and then
stage one baby foods, he's already growing up so fast!

Thank you Nana for the high chair, it's a great early Christmas gift!

This is the turtle that James drew on his magna doodle! Loveit!

Friday, November 14, 2008

Max had his 4 month checkup yesterday, he weighs 17lbs and 7oz and is 25 1/2in. long. He is in the 75% for his height and 95% for his weight. He is such a big boy! He barely fits into his 6mos. clothes and can wear 9mos. He is working on cutting his bottom two teeth. He is so funny, smiles and laughs all the time especially at his big brother. He loves James.

James is as wild as ever, where does all of that energy come from!? We are still working on the potty training concept. He knows what to do and will go if I put him on it, but he only occaionally actually tells me he has to go. He loves to be outside and has been talking on his toy phone a lot these days to Gg, Nathan, Sarah, Gracie and Nana Katy. He has just started drawing people on his magna doodle, he loves that thing! I love his drawings, yesterday he drew a turtle and it actually did look like a turtle! Too cute!

Jim is coming home tomorrow, yay! He has been sailing in the Virgin Islands with his dad and some friends. We miss him so much, we haven't seen him for almost three weeks since we were in Tennessee, can't wait for him to get home!

Fall in Tennessee

My favorite time in Tennessee
What a beautiful fall!

Have you seen Max?

Leipers Fork, TN

We visited Allysons friend Kim in Leipers Fork, her house is amazing and the farm and land was absolutely beautiful. We had a ball walking through the creeks and enjoying the scenery.
